Review an Onboarding Flow
Find comprehension problems in onboarding materials before testing with real users.

Use synthetic feedback to examine the meaning of onboarding copy and screens. Keep it distinct from observing real people completing a product workflow.
Select the right perspective
Choose an audience matching first-time users, including their category familiarity. Do not ground them in internal product knowledge they would not have at signup.
For a public page, use URL feedback. For a captured screen, use Creative test. For several steps, build an Interview with the corresponding image and question at each step.
Ask about the next action
At each step, ask:
- What do you think this screen is asking you to do?
- What do you expect to happen next?
- What information is missing before you would continue?
Keep the screenshot sequence explicit. A respondent cannot infer an unseen interaction merely because the guide calls it “onboarding”. Current new media stimuli support images, not video or audio walkthroughs.
