Chat with a Synthetic Individual

When a report surfaces an unexpected finding, chat is how you go deeper. When you want to understand the reasoning behind a response, not just the response itself, chat is how you get there. And when your question doesn't fit neatly into a discussion guide, chat lets you explore it in real time without rebuilding a task from scratch.

It's also the fastest way to get something useful out of iMario. No canvas, no configuration — just a conversation.

To start a chat:

1. Open the individual's profile
2. Click the black Chat button
3. Message your synthetic individual

You can talk directly with any individual at any time. Use chat to:

• Probe specific opinions or reactions
• Ask follow-up questions
• Simulate a back-and-forth conversation

Every interaction updates the individual's memory — which means the more you chat, the more grounded and accurate they become. A synthetic individual you've had ten conversations with is a fundamentally different research tool than one you've just generated.

Use chat alongside tasks, not instead of them. Tasks give you breadth and structure. Chat gives you depth and flexibility. The combination is where the most useful insights tend to come from.
