# About Synthetic Individuals

A Synthetic Individual is a modelled person with an identity, background and perspective. Inspect an available individual and use direct chat to explore reasoning beyond a group summary.

## Individual versus audience

An [audience](https://imario.ai/docs/audiences/choose) defines a population or segment. A respondent participates in a particular run. An individual profile offers one concrete perspective; it does not prove a real person would answer the same way.

You do not need to create individuals manually before using an available audience in **New Task**.

## What to inspect

Read identity, narrative, personality, values, behavior, communication and knowledge boundaries. Profiles differ by source and generation path; not every individual has identical depth or a populated Reflections tab.

Distinguish source-grounded details from modelled elaboration. A plausible story or confident voice does not make an inferred detail an observed fact.
