# Manage a Knowledge Base

Open **Knowledge Base** and select a base. Use its name and file list to confirm you are editing the intended workspace context.

## Organize material

Use the base menu to rename it. Open files to inspect content and use the search controls to locate a source. Rename a file where offered, keeping its extension intact.

Dragging a ready file onto another base copies it rather than moving it. Check the destination before assuming the original has disappeared. Wait for processing to finish before copying.

## Update or remove

Remove obsolete files using the file controls. Use the base menu to delete a base and read the confirmation. Keep a copy of anything you need before deleting; do not rely on a restore workflow.

Removing retrieval material does not retroactively erase a completed report or rewrite a profile influenced at generation. Review those separately if the source contained a material error.

## Check later responses

Connected chat retrieval uses the available contents of the selected knowledge connection. If an answer still looks outdated, inspect the citation and selected files rather than assuming the source was re-read.
